Dardesh Privacy Policy
The short version.
Dardesh turns your speech into text. To do that, the audio you dictate (and any screenshot you choose to add) is sent to our service and to the AI provider that transcribes it. We do not sell your data, we do not use your dictations to train AI models, and we do not show ads. Your dictation history lives on your own device.
1. Who we are
Dardesh ("Dardesh", "we", "us") provides voice-dictation software: an app for macOS today, with an iPhone keyboard and a Windows app planned (together, the "Service"), and this website, getdardesh.com. For any privacy question, write to hello@getdardesh.com.
2. What we collect

We do not collect what you type on your keyboard, the contents of other apps, or anything on your screen other than the screenshots you deliberately capture during a dictation.
3. Your dictations
- Audio and screenshots are sent over an encrypted connection to our service and passed to our AI processing provider to be transcribed. We keep them only for as long as it takes to return your transcript, and they are then deleted from our systems.
- Your history (transcripts, recordings and screenshots) is stored on your own device, where you can search it and delete any item or all of it at any time.
- Silence is removed on your device before upload where possible, so less audio leaves it.
- No training. We do not use your audio, screenshots or transcripts to train AI models, and we use AI providers under terms that do not allow them to train on your content either.
- Vocabulary learning (names and terms the app learns from your own dictations) is built on your device from your own history.
4. App permissions
- Microphone: used only while you are dictating.
- Accessibility (macOS): used only to paste the transcript at your cursor.
- Screen Recording (macOS): used only when you capture a screenshot during a dictation.
- Full Access (iPhone keyboard, when available): used so the keyboard can reach the Dardesh app, which does the recording. The keyboard does not record or send what you type.
5. How we use information
We use the information above to provide and improve the Service, to manage accounts and subscriptions, to answer support requests, to keep the Service safe, and to meet legal obligations. Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on: performing our contract with you (providing the Service), your consent (the waitlist and optional features), our legitimate interests (security, preventing abuse, improving the product), and legal obligations (tax and accounting records).
6. Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run Dardesh, under contracts that limit what they may do with it:
- Google (Gemini API for transcription and translation; Firebase for sign-in and our backend).
- Cloudflare (hosting for this website and the waitlist).
- Our payment provider, which processes payments and may act as the seller of record. We never see or store your full card number.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and of Dardesh. If Dardesh is ever merged or acquired, your information may be transferred as part of that, and we will tell you beforehand.
7. International transfers
Our providers operate in several countries, so your information may be processed outside the country you live in. When it is, we rely on the safeguards the law provides, such as standard contractual clauses.
8. How long we keep it
- Audio and screenshots: only until your transcript is returned.
- Waitlist email: until we invite you or you ask to be removed.
- Account and usage data: while your account is open, and deleted or anonymised within 90 days after you close it.
- Billing records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.
9. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, to stop using it, or to remove you from the waitlist. You can delete your dictation history yourself inside the app. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR, the UK GDPR, the KVKK or the CCPA, including the right to complain to your data protection authority. To use any of these rights, write to hello@getdardesh.com. We reply within 30 days.
10. Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access to our systems is limited to the people who need it, and credentials are stored in the secure storage your operating system provides. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will tell you as the law requires.
11. Children
Dardesh is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Cookies
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. If we add analytics, it will be privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics.
13. Changes
We will update this policy as the Service grows (for example when the iPhone keyboard and the Windows app open). When a change is significant, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. The date at the top shows the latest version.
